How Ultrafiltration Works

Feed Water → Pre-Treatment → UF Membrane Filtration → Backwash/Cleaning → Treated Water

Feed water enters the UF membrane system after appropriate pre-treatment. As water passes through the membrane, suspended solids, colloids and many microorganisms are retained, while the filtered water passes through as permeate.

The membranes are periodically cleaned or backwashed according to the system design and operating conditions to maintain filtration performance.
